Olivia Pope's circle of power players sometimes makes life difficult.
Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) has more in common with her religious namesake than an affinity for white attire: Scandal's
leading woman also is surrounded by a circle of powerful men. The
accompanying connections and conspiracies make life very challenging.
"I think often the complications are a mixture of good and bad for
Olivia, (but they are) always great for the show," Washington says of
ABC's
Scandal(Thursdays, 10 p.m. ET/PT). "Each of these men has a
very unique relationship history with Olivia, and therefore they have
very different understandings of who she is and what they think is best
for her.
